For anybody who loves good quality wines. Not only are South African wines very tasty, they are also made in some of the most picturesque parts of the country.

Begin with a couple of days in Cape Town, simply because it is a shame to miss the chance to enjoy this cosmopolitan city and its wonderful setting. Then head to The Winelands for a few days really getting to know the region. Continue on to The Whale Coast, famous for whales but also home to several absolutely fantastic vineyards. Conclude with some time in the Klein Karoo, famous for its port.

Day 1: Fly to Cape Town.

Day 2: Collect your hire car on arrival OR be met by one of our representatives and start with three nights in Cape Town. Have a look at our selected hotels in Cape Town and if you like any in particular, just click 'add to quote' and we will include them. There are also many fantastic excursions to do in and around Cape Town many of which are listed below.

Day 3: Spend a full day exploring the beautiful Cape Peninsula. There are many excursions to do in this capitivating area.

Day 4: Perhaps take an Uthando project tour to learn more about the townships and how people are seeking to improve their lot there. We have also compiled a list of our favourite restaurants in Cape Town which we can reserve for you.

Day 5: Drive to The Winelands, your base for four nights. There are some fantastic hotels in the Winelands and we have selected our favourites for you.

Day 6: A tour of the Winelands in the company of Pietman Retief is an absolute must. There are many other Winelands excursions to fill your days with here.

Day 7: Continue to explore the Winelands on your own, maybe visiting Camberley or trying Waterford's Chocolate & Wine pairings.

Day 8: Other estates worth visiting include Boschendal and Spier, or for something different, why not try wine tasting on horse-back?

Day 9: Drive down to the Whale Coast. Again, we have some great hotels selected here for you. Remember that anything you see that takes your fancy, just click 'add to quote' - you can always just remove it later.

Day 10: Spend some time in the Hemel-en-Aarde wine valley.

Day 11: Continue to Oudtshoorn in the Klein Karoo. Look at the Oudtshoorn hotels - there's only a few of them.

Day 12: Conclude your trip with some port tasting.

Day 13: Head to George airport for a flight home, via Johannesburg.
